Osha violations

As reported in the last issue of Fire Protection Comments, Grinnell has been discovered to have an alarmingly inadequate safety program for its employees and members of the public.

When OSHA inspected a Grinnel Fire Protection job site in Dallas, Texas, the employee safety monitoring agency discovered that Grinnell did little to protect its employees from safety hazards.

In fact, a "safety narrative" provided by OSHA of an assessment of Grinnell’s construction industry safety practices is alarming.

Grinnell had no written safety program—in fact, it had no accident prevention program, written or otherwise, according to OSHA.

OSHA rated Grinnell "inadequate" in the following areas: communication of safety issues to its employees; enforcement of safety provisions; establishment of a safety training program; establish of a health training program; an in taking preventative action to prevent industrial injuries or illness.

No wonder OSHA has found so many safety violations at Grinnell or Tyco Co. plants throughout the United States. Below is a sampling of some recent violations in several states.
