| LIENS |
|
IN THE LAST THREE YEARS ALONE, CHRISTIAN BROTHERS HAS
FILED OVER $415,000 IN LIENS AGAINST ITS OWN CUSTOMERS
Liens are an unnecessary evil in the construction industry. Many
construction customers know how maddening it is to try and obtain bank
financing where there is some claim or lien, no matter how frivolous,
against your property. That is why it is important for construction
customers to be concerned about whether a contractor is likely to file liens
against its customers, rather than negotiate a solution. A lien against your
property by a contractor, is as effective a claim against your equity as a
bank’s mortgage, according to the Engineering News Report.
Christian Brothers filed many liens against their own customers and their
fellow contractors. Here are some liens recently filed by Christian Brothers
Heating and Air Conditioning:

| WILL HAVING CHRISTIAN
BROTHERS AT YOUR COMPANY SITE CAUSE UNION PICKETS TO FOLLOW? Although Christian Brothers touts its non-union status, this doesn’t mean
that it is free from labor disputes. On several occasions, these bitter
disputes have spilled over onto its customers’ job sites.
At one point, Christian Brothers’ mismanagement caused many of Christian
Brothers’ employees to seek an election to unionize Christian Brothers.
Christian Brothers reacted by firing and disciplining its workers in an
illegal manner, bringing unfair labor practice charges. Christian Brothers’
conduct also caused union members to make appearances and stage
demonstrations at several of Christian Brothers’ job sites (see box below
for more details). (Case #21-CA-3518) |
