| Non
Compliance |
Here is a list of some of
the situations that prompted the Los Angeles Community College District to
issue multiple Notices of Non-Compliance against All Temperatures Controlled
for non-conforming work.
|
In Another Non- Compliance Notice issued on 8/8/00,
Inspectors noted that the pipe installation did not comply with
construction documents. |
This Notice of Non-Compliance noted more problems with the
installation of lighting fixtures at the auto shop and other buildings. In
this instance, Pierce College’s inspector complained:
“At the auto shop and Shipping & Receiving Buildings, light fixtures with
rusted housings [were] installed. [The] contractors personnel [were]
observed painting over the rusted housings prior to fixture installation.
The superintendent was notified and observed field painted light fixtures at
the auto shop on 9/19. The inspector requested that the rusted fixtures be
set aside for inspection ... Fixtures with heavier rust with field painting
were installed since the notification/observation date ... During the last
rain season, pallets of boxed light fixtures were left unprotected by the
contractor’s field office. The superintendent was requested to cover &
protect the stored light fixtures on several occasions.” (Notice of
Non-Compliance notice #2.)
Notice of Non-Compliance regarding installation of lighting fixtures at the
LA Pierce College job, at the business, education and industrial technology
buildings. This Notice of Non-Compliance charged that the fixtures were
installed with materials that did not comply with the contract
specifications. (Notice of Non-Compliance notices #1 and #17)
Another Notice of Non-Compliance was issued for installation of expansion
bolt anchors without the required inspection. All Temperatures Controlled
also did not submit information for that installation, an example being an
evaluation report. (Notice of Non-Compliance #9)
